The 2026 World Cup is a historic moment for the UK, with both England and Scotland qualifying, the latter for the first time since 1998. England fans are looking to Thomas Tuchel to lead the Three Lions to silverware, while the Scots are eager to make their mark on the world stage once again.
The action is underway! This guide covers everything you need to know about using bet365 for this summer's tournament. From navigating the new tournament format and understanding our unique features like 'Sub On Play On', to advice on how to place bets, using Cash Out, and understanding how VAR impacts your bets. We have compiled all the essential information to help you get the most out of your betting experience this summer.
What happens if my player gets subbed off?
With Sub On Play On, your bet is rolled over to their replacement, with no change in odds. Say you’ve bet on Player A to score 2 or more goals, but he only scores 1. He is then subbed for Player B. Player B scores 1 goal taking your overall tally to 2 goals – and your bet wins. You can enjoy the excitement of the group stages without worrying about substitutions – leave that to the managers. What is an Accumulator?
An accumulator lets you place multiple selections all in one bet and calculates your combined odds. That means you can predict multiple outcomes from various markets. For more information and full terms and conditions, please click here.
Why is my Cash Out Unavailable?
Whilst we always appreciate Cash Out is a popular feature, there may be situations where it is unavailable. In these instances, you will not be offered an amount, or when trying to confirm Cash Out, it will be rejected.
For more information, please see our Cash Out page.
What markets are available?
If you’ve got your eye on a particular player who you think will shine in the group stages, you can select from our extensive range of player markets. Predict who will make the scoresheet, and take their team to the top of their group with our Player to Score or Assist markets. Or, if you think a team has an elite shot-stopper in goal, you can choose our Goalkeeper Saves market. Most of our player markets are settled by Opta, and you can find out more here.
What is VAR and how does it impact my bet?
The VAR (Video Assistant Referee) assists with game-changing decisions during a match. This includes goals, penalties and for the World Cup only, second yellow cards and corners.
This can lead to voided bets, Cash Out being unavailable and impact the time it takes for a market to settle.

How are my bets settled?
bet365 aims to settle all bets within an hour of the event finishing, however, this may be delayed during busier periods. You can see all your settled bets under the My Bets tab. For more information on Bet Settlement, click here.
